An impressive early lion head

SICILY. Leontini. Circa 476-466 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.00 g, 5 h). Charioteer driving quadriga walking to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in his left; above, Nike flying right to crown the horses. Rev. ΛEO-N-T-I-N-O Head of a roaring lion to right; around, four grains of barley. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 4 (same dies). HGC 2, 660. Randazzo 80 (same dies). SNG ANS 201 (same dies). Beautifully toned and with an impressive early lion head. Somewhat rough and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
